UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) introduced two new Toyota Hilux variants, the “L-Edition” for 2.8 litre AT 4x4 and 2.4 litre AT 4x4. and the Toyota Sienta with upgraded accessories and additional new features. Order taking for both model starts from today, 14th March 2018.
Differentiating the L-Edition from other Hilux variants is the bold front design with an aggressive image and wider appearance created by its hexagonal grille surrounded by chrome trim. The bumper now has a different profile with a larger and wider air intake below the grille. The changes reflect and emphasise the toughness of the Hilux, a key attribute throughout its 50-year history.
New rear step ornament is integrated with silver trim, adds a premium touch to the vehicle looks. The Hilux L-Edition also comes with a new stylish 5-spoke 18-inch rims with two tone colour - silver and black.
Inside, the Hilux L-Edition has an all-black interior theme with a combination of piano black trim throughout the cabin which gives a bolder, upmarket feel to the interior. The high-quality combination leather seat is perforated for more comfort and better ventilation.
For the Hilux 2.8 L-Edition, there are specially designed Optitron meters with white background lighting, to provide clear viewing under all lighting conditions.
For safety, the L-Edition is equipped with 7 airbags, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (A-TRC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) as standard. For the 2.8 L-Edition, Downhill Assist Control (DAC) is added to make driving down a steep slope easier and safer.
The new variant features the existing Hilux 2.8-litre and 2.4-litre 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine which offers higher output and equipped with 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shifter. The engine series provides stronger low-end torque delivery, better response for acceleration, greater reliability under the most extreme conditions and improved fuel efficiency.
Since its introduction in August last year, the Toyota Sienta has provided urban families with a premium value compact MPV and with a distinctive design rather than a plain ‘people-carrier’.
The 2018 model will only be available as 1.5V variant and now comes with additional accessories and features at no price change. The Compact MPV is now equipped with an upgraded 6.9-inch DVD-AVX system that comes with Bluetooth connectivity, HDMI, SD Card Input as well as a Reverse Camera.
Customers can upgrade to the optional 7-inch touchscreen DVD-AVN system that comes with the GPS-based navigation system which includes the locations of Toyota sales and aftersales outlets in Malaysia.
New for the Sienta is the optional Panoramic View Monitor that will definitely provide assistance to park the vehicle. Cameras around the vehicle capture the side and front views, enabling the driver to spot any obstacles or hazards which may not be visible from inside or in the rear view mirrors.
The Sienta is now equipped with a USB charging port in the second row to give convenience to its passengers. With the inclusion of trunk mat in the rear cargo area, there is a better protection for the floor. It was designed to fit perfectly and can be easily taken out for cleaning whenever needed.
All Toyota models come with a 5-year warranty and unlimited mileage (except for Toyota Hilux with maximum mileage of 150,000kms). To enhance the value of the vehicle, the warranty is transferable to the next owner within the terms and conditions.
